Our new curate, James Pacey is now with us after ordination at Southwell Minster. James is joined by his wife, Rachel and has now officially taken up his post. The whole church family welcome them both and look forward to his spiritual support and guidance.

The main picture shows James and Rachel with the Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham, Rt Revd Paul Williams, taken immediately after his ordination service at Southwell Minster. He was supported by a large number of St Mary Magdalene parishioners, clergy and lay staff, who also enjoyed a wonderful summer’s afternoon party at the Hucknall rectory in celebration of his arrival and appointment.

Though James has only been with us for a short time, everyone comments that it feels like he’s been here much longer as his friendly manner and approachable personality instantly put people at ease and draw them into conversation.
